Custom CryEngine coming to NGP
Crykey

Sony has annouced that a custom version of the CryEngine will be made available to NGP developers.
Although CryTek, the German company behind the engine has yet to make an official announcement, SCE Japan has announced CryEngine's availabilty on its website.
It's not the only piece of formidable middleware slated for the new Sony handheld, either. Epic Games, the company behind the similarly powerful Unreal Engine, has already confirmed that it's backing the NGP.
Powering the portable futureWith these two graphics powerhouses in its development stable, Sony looks set to deliver the most visually impressive handheld to date.
Indeed, Epic's founder, Tim Sweeny recently commented that NGP's multi-core GPU is "roughly four times as powerful as any portable we've previously seen”.
Bold words indeed. Expect to see just how beautiful the results are as the NGP's tentative 'holiday 2011' release date approaches.
