Another day, another site offering free mobile games. This latest discovery comes with a twist however, in that it's a community site with an emphasis on homebrew mobile development.
Playyoo offers registered users the means with which to fashion and publish their own Flash Lite games. The finished games are made available on the site to download and users can comment about each title, leaving constructive feedback/harsh criticism (delete as appropriate). Of course, you don't have to have aspirations as a games developer to enjoy the games as all the uploaded titles are free to download to registered users.
The best bit though is that every uploaded game is entered into a prize draw - that's £10,000 if your game is voted as being the most popular. Obviously, being a user-generated content site, phone compatibility is a bit hit and miss but luckily Playyoo has included streaming online demos for each title so you can check them out on your PC before getting embroiled in the intricacies of shifting to your handset.
Currently in its beta stage, the site has only recently launched meaning that content is fairly sparse at the moment. That should change however and we're looking forward to spying some freebie gems throughout the year.
