Could the Nintendo NX ultimately be named Nintendo Duo?

It's been a while, internet lovelies, but the NX rumour train has started another journey. Today's stop: a potential name-change from the Nintendo NX to the Nintendo Duo.

Take this newsbit with a pinch of salt because, much like 99% of the NX news out at the moment, nothing has been confirmed. According to an image posted on 2Chan earlier, the Nintendo NX could just be a codename/placeholder before its full name was revealed.

As mentioned in gadgets360's post this name change could make a whole lot of sense in the long run. Officially confirmed by a Pokemon CEO several weeks ago, the NX is most likely going to be a console/handheld hybrid so by using Duo over NX at least it would fit the brief a little better.

Of course there's still a chance Nintendo could turn around in the next few months, point, and then laugh at us for believing the rumour train for so long. Having confirmed very little, and considering the launch date/reveal was supposed to be in March 2017, the deadline's getting tighter and tighter for Nintendo to start nodding along with the statements and theories.
