Welcome to "Best of the rest - Android edition", Pocket Gamer's round-up of all the new 'droid games that we didn't find the time to cover this week.

Hundreds of new games hit Google Play every day, so we can never write about everything. Instead, we pick and choose the most interesting and noteworthy apps.

To make sure no one is left out, though, we like to chuck a few of the most exciting 'leftover' new Android games in this here article.

Let us know if you like the look of any of these.

Forever Lost: Episode 1
By Glitch Games - buy on Android

If you've been pining for an Android port of Fireproof's eerie puzzler The Room, you might want to give the first episode of Forever Lost a once over.

This creepy point-and-click adventure landed on iOS last month. Set in an abandoned sanitorium, the game tasks you with exploring the facility, solving weird puzzles as you go.

Though not quite on a par with The Room, Forever Lost succeeded in putting the frighteners on our reviewer, who described it as "a bizarre and intriguing blend of ideas and styles".

Boardtastic Skateboarding 2
By PerBlue - download on Android

There have been numerous attempts to replicate skateboarding on mobile devices.

The best games (Touchgrind, True Skate) tend to rely on gesture controls, rather than floating joysticks, to give you full command of your deck.

Boardtastic Skateboarding 2 mixes gesture controls with a rotating virtual dial, delivering an interesting mash-up of old and new. It's a bit on the slow side, but fans of the original will probably lap it up.

Grudger
By Noble Muffins - buy on Android

When you need a parcel delivered on time and with no questions asked, Grudger is your man.

Following the rules of the auto-runner genre, he spends his days charging around a steampunk universe, avoiding obstacles, swinging off poles, and grinding rails to get to his destination.

Unlike many auto-runners, Grudger lets you switch directions at any time. There are 30 levels, with a the promise of more to come.

James pivoted to video so hard that he permanently damaged his spine, which now doubles as a Cronenbergian mic stand. If the pictures are moving, he's the one to blame.
