Apple adds Motorola Droid X to list of deathgrip handsets
Deathgrip issues lampooned through the medium of MC Hammer
While Apple continues to play the role of smartphone police chief, rounding up deathgrip suspects and shaming them on its site, the rest of the world continues to play silly.
Stanley Kirk Burrell, better known as MC Hammer, is not the ‘world’s number one MC’. He is, however, the star of the latest iPhone 4 spoof, as supplied by Flickr user J from the UK.
Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based crew, led by DJ Jobs and MC Killer Schiller, has decided to call out Motorola and its current poster boy, the Droid X.
Taking a seat between the HTC Droid Eris and Nokia’s N97 mini on Apple’s recently-launched Smartphone Antenna Performance rogues' gallery page, this particular Droid definitely does suffer from antenna attenuation when held ‘incorrectly’.
Look out for the Motorola response soon, probably to the strains of G-Unit lyricist Lloyd Banks’s, ahem, ‘Rotten Apple.’
