The next eight days in handheld games

As political tension between the west and Russia escalates, it is clearly only a matter of time before big red buttons are being pushed and the gruesome beauty of mushroom clouds form part of our daily skyline.
Perhaps we're being unrealistic. After all, the continuing failure to get the world powers to agree to specific CO2 emissions cut targets means we'll soon have a planet not worth blowing up anyway – not least because most of us will be swimming to work.
In that context, it seems a little trivial to talk about the week's forthcoming handheld releases. Then again, routine is one of the two best ways to deal with a crisis. The other being, as everyone knows, to lose yourself in the virtual world of a great video game.
And looking ahead at the selection available over the next eight days, picking one or two such examples should at least prove infinitely easier than getting the US to start acting on world climate issues.
