Who doesn't love new games? We certainly do - there's just something about the exhilaration of a new title you can't wait to dive into, as the loading screen pops up and you enter a brave new world.
Of course, new mobile games are a dime a dozen these days, and who has the time to scour the iPhone, iPad and/or Android stores to catch the latest title that drops? Fret not - we've gathered a quick list of 5 new mobile games you should try this week, whether that's an undiscovered indie gem or a high-profile AAA masterpiece.
That said, you can head on over to our NEW WEEKLY MOBILE GAMES hub if you're on the hunt for more curated adventures to obsess over!
1
FairyTale Quest
There's never an easy road towards happily ever after, is there? Fairy tale characters know that all too well, and in FairyTale Quest, it's exactly as it says on the tin. It is, essentially, a fairy tale quest - and with roguelite action and adorable pixel art to boot.
You can gear up to save the world (of course) by collecting a lovely cast of familiar characters across procedurally generated stages, with a wide variety of skill combos you can mix and match on each one. You can even collect cute costumes for your fantasy heroes too, because saving the world is all about style, isn't it?

2
Babe-Taro
Now, if you have more lofty ideals than your average fantasy adventure, perhaps attempting to climb the proverbial tower of Babel is more up your alley? Babe-Taro adds a lovably ridiculous twist to the tale by throwing Claymation-esque visuals and a harmless giant into the mix.
You'll stack everything from aeroplanes to hot air balloons to get to the top, but be wary, though - if you fail, you risk incurring the wrath of the gods and you'll be struck down by lightning for your arrogance. Nobody said reaching the heavens would be easy.

3
Dorsal Shores
Not everyone can take that kind of heat, so if you're looking for something a tad more low-pressure, Dorsal Shores offers a charming adventure for you to embark on instead. This adorable world of anthropomorphic creatures is looking for a new leader, and wouldn't you know it? You seem to be perfect for the job.
You can hire the right recruits and complete a variety of jobs for visitors to the titular shores, with randomly generated missions you can take on to train and level up your crew. There are plenty of achievements to aim for to unlock new captains as well - all this for under a dollar!

4
Aerthlings
Remember those old NFC-enabled collectables that were all the rage back then? You might even have a figure or two gathering dust in your basement or attic, and if you've been looking to get into the joy of collecting them again, Aerthlings hopes to revive that warm and fuzzy feeling.
The free-to-play mobile RPG tasks you with rebuilding a shattered world using toys-to-life tech, with FIGs that you unlock via mystery boxes IRL. You also get to trade your FIGs with others without losing them completely - this means that once the FIG is scanned and hatched into the RPG, that's yours permanently, regardless of trading the physical FIG. Time to clear out some shelf space!

5
Alien Morgue
Finally, it won't be a proper start to the month without making some questionable moral choices on mobile, which is where Alien Morgues comes in. Much like Papers, Please, you'll work the counter and decide whether or not you want to fulfil requests made to you - only this time, you're an alien pathologist, and you're dissecting bodies to determine the cause of death.
As you try to decipher the features of the deceased based on protocol, you'll eventually stumble upon a whole bunch of stuff inside the bodies that will…complicate things, to say the least. There's no time pressure, but there are 25 days and 9 endings to unlock, so suffice it to say the dead will do most of the talking here. Pretty morbid, yes, but someone's got to do it.
