iPhone in the Myst

Retro conversions are proving to be big hitters on the iPhone, and we now hear the classic graphic adventure, Myst (circa 1991, last seen on the DS) is almost ready for the iPhone treatment.
We’re also noticing a lot of old school developers are handling the conversions themselves, exactly as Cyan Worlds is doing with its celebrated PC hit.
Myst casts you as The Stranger, transported to the mysterious island (hence the name Myst) and attempting to fathom your way back to the world. It used pre-rendered backdrops to provide the visual excellence the game really needed, and judging by these early screenshots, the iPhone version is pretty much pixel perfect.
Myst was the best selling PC game of all time until The Sims came along in 2002, which is a pretty spiffing achievement. Let’s see how it does on the App Store.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
