My Lovely Wife, a tale of love and murder, is now available on the App Store
Neon Doctrine and GameChanger have just announced the release of their latest title, My Lovely Wife, on iOS devices. The game was presented at The Indie Horror Showcase and has been described as a gothic demonic creature collector. It chronicles the story of a widower and the importance of letting go.
My Lovely Wife is an ensemble of genres, bringing together elements of dating, management, and alchemy all into one game. Players step foot into the shoes of the protagonist, Jake, who has been drowning in his grief after the sudden death of his beloved wife, Luna.
Jake knows how to summon demonic creatures to work for him, but he also has the option to sacrifice them in order to create a vessel for his wife’s return. In his state of mourning, Jake will do just about anything. Whether it is learning to let go or destroying the lives of others for his wife is in the hands of the player.
Players must use his summoning knowledge to help Jake manage his business by calling upon demonic guests. Each one has its own attributes, which determine how much gold and demonic essence can be collected. These stats can be upgraded at various locations in the town, and as new resources become available, Jake can also summon more assistants.
At the same time, Jake has a chance to fall in love again. He can either court female succubi or male-identifying incubi so that they fall in love with him. Then comes the tricky and sadistic decision. Players must either let Jake move on from Luna’s memories by letting a new bond form or sacrifice their new lover to use their essence to resurrect Luna.
There are over 40 different endings so players have loads of different paths to go down every time they replay. My Lovely Wife is available on the App Store for $8.99, with the base game costing $6.99, but it doesn't include the incubi.
