The legendary and unfortunately Japan-exclusive pinball-esque gacha RPG Monster Strike has launched their latest collaboration, this time marking a third crossover effort with the popular anime series Sword Art Online. What makes this particular collab different from the previous two SAO crossovers is that this one is centred on Summer-themed units, offering up plenty of swimsuits and pool-time collaboration characters as well as new content and free handouts!

Monster Strike is one that’s always tough to write about, as the pure amount of jealousy I feel when I recall that it’s a Japan exclusive is palpable. It’s a phenomenal game, built around the idea that each unit you have is a sphere that you launch onto the battlefield to collide with enemies as well as use abilities and manoeuvres. It’s sort of similar to World Flipper, but built around slinging your units instead of using pinball bumpers.

Regardless, it is home to many different collaborations that are hosted near monthly, and this one is no different. This new Sword Art Online collaboration acts as the third with Monster Strike, but it brings new versions of previously seen units to the game. Specifically, there are Summer versions of Asuna, Sinon, Alice, Quinella, Yuki, Lisbeth, Silica, and Leafa.

The first three of those will be available on the new gacha banner, while the remainder will be rewards for completing different missions and event challenges. There are plenty of new quests and missions to complete themed after SAO for this event, so be sure to check them all out and grab those event reward units for free!

On top of all of this, there are also your usual log-in campaigns, free handouts, and premium currency up for grabs, so this isn’t one to miss. Check it out by downloading Monster Strike for free at either of the links below.
