Monster Dash, the endless runner from Halfbrick Studios, is set to return to the App Store in soft-launch

Monster Dash is an endless runner from developer Halfbrick Studios, though you may already know that since the game was previously available for iOS from 2010 to 2017 before it was removed due to GDPR compliance. But now it's set to make a hopefully glorious return to the App Store.

Initially, this will only be in soft-launch meaning only select regions will be able to access the game. Those places include Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Indonesia. Monster Dash will soft-launch for iOS in those aforementioned countries before the end of the month.

If you're unfamiliar or have forgotten due to the passing of time, Monster Dash is an endless runner where you play as Barry Steakfries as he runs and blasts his way through a host of different beasties. There is also time travel involved where you'll be whisked off to a new area whenever you've run a certain distance to keep the game feeling varied.

You can also leap over the enemies as gunning them down might not always be the best cause of action. As you continue to survive, Barry Steakfries will begin to run more quickly, making it increasingly tricky to keep up with the action.

We reviewed the game when it launched all the way back in 2010. Our reviewer Tracy Erickson found it to be a reasonably fun time but added that it probably wouldn't keep you enthralled for long periods, awarding it a Bronze rating.

Monster Dash is set to return to the App Store in soft-launch in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines and Indonesia before the end of July. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
