Monkey Ball goes mobile

Go Bananas

We like monkeys. You like monkeys. Everybody likes monkeys, especially if they’re rolling round in big balls. Sega’s Super Monkey Ball series has consequently been hugely popular on console, and now it’s out for your mobile too, courtesy of UK publisher iFone. Monkey Ball Mini Golf is based on one of the mini-games from the original Super Monkey Ball game that's done so well on various video game consoles. You choose one of four simians to play an 18-hole crazy golf course, collecting bananas for bonus shots along the way.

There’s also a pass-the-handset multiplayer mode to get your friends in on the bonobo-related action. The game is out now, and serves as a neat warm-up to iFone’s upcoming mobile versions of Sonic The Hedgehog, Virtua Tennis and – perhaps best of all – the legendary Chu Chu Rocket (ask your Dreamcast-owning older brother).
