Forgotten Miyamoto title Mole Mania emerges on the 3DS eShop
| Mole Mania

In May, Pocket Gamer listed the Top 10 Game Boy classics that we wanted to see on the 3DS eShop. Well, looks like someone at Nintendo was reading.

Burrowing up from the depths of 1997 to the sunlit world of 2012, Mole Mania will be available from the eShop this Thursday.

And for those not in the proverbial know, this neat little puzzler boasts some real pedigree, coming from the mind of Shigeru Miyamoto (he of Zelda and Mario fame) an' all.

Man vs Mole

In the game itself, Muddy Mole has to travel across various stages by ferrying a black ball over obstacles and around enemies. Why? Because he's in pursuit of the dastardly farmer Jinbe, who's kidnapped his family, of course.

Muddy can dig into soft ground to uncover hidden passages and get around traps, but a misplaced hole could well scupper your chances of clearing the level.

Mole Mania is out on the 3DS eShop for £2.70 next Thursday, and I'm already campaigning to have Muddy appear in the next Super Smash Bros.
