Seafaring side-scroller Mighty Fin sailing onto iPhone tonight

New Zealand-based developer Launching Pad Games wowed us with Scarlett and the Spark of Life in December last year.

With its kooky art style and excellent script, Scarlett and the Spark of Life got us excited about what the studio could - ahem - launch next.

We’ll all soon find out as Launching Pad's follow-up game, Mighty Fin, has just gone live on the New Zealand App Store.

Plucky goldfish Fin is about to embark on a ‘dangerous’ world tour, and he’ll need you to guide him through rocky outcrops, treacherous stormy seas, and icy caverns.

There are all kinds of obstacles, from icebergs to sharks, with finger flickery the order of the day on the controls front.

In terms of replayability, you can unlock costumes and challenges in Mighty Fin, and the game features Game Center integration for those bubble-collecting high score junkies.

Mighty Fin for iPhone is out now in New Zealand, and will hit the US store at 11pm tonight and the UK around midnight. It'll cost you 59p / 99c / €0.79.
