Meteor Blitz HD heading for iPad
Bigger price, better explosions

Alley Labs confirmed today that the iPhone hit Meteor Blitz will be getting an ‘HD’ makeover for the iPad.
Meteor Blitz is a twin-stick shooter with a suitably pumped up techno soundtrack and massive explosions – the two key ingredients for any space-based manic blaster.
The game feels a little like a cross between Super Stardust HD on the PS3 and Geometry Wars, with enemies dropping onto the playing area and a real-time global leaderboard tracker always on screen.
The iPad version is more expensive than the iPhone one though, as is becoming the norm it seems - £3.49/$5.99 as opposed to £1.79/$2.99 – but unlike other games that only increase the resolution or don’t even offer the same amount of content as the iPhone version (hello, Angry Birds HD), Meteor Blitz HD comes packed with a host of new graphical whizz-bangs.
These include everyone’s favourite effect for running away from explosions, slow-motion, and particle effects that make the aforementioned slow-motion explosions even more explosive.
The title has already been submitted to the Apple authorities for certification and, barring any strange hatred for the systematic destruction of space objects, should be available on the App Store very soon.
