I want to describe Machineers as being greasepunk.

It's made from scraps of metal and electrical meshing. This is a little robot world constructed out of machine parts.

It's also an inventive puzzle game that tasks you with repairing broken machines and creating your own out of gears, belts, and cables.
The first episode (of five) has been released today and it gives you 12 puzzles to solve, including a DJ machine, a coin-operated crane, and a mechanical arcade machine.

There's also a sandbox mode that lets you create your own vehicles. Well, if you have a little bit of know-how and a spurt of creativity, that is. This first episode is all about building a car.

The other four episodes will be released throughout 2015, hopefully - the second is actually due in January.

They move you on to, respectively, boats, hot air balloons, rocket ships, and then a teleporter to finish up.

So, if you're looking for an intricate puzzle game that will train you in logical thinking and procedural literacy, or if you just think it's cute (which it is) give it a look.

Machineers is available to purchase on the App Store for £2.99 / $4.99 right now.
