As the most popular marble-shooting match-3 game with over 75 million downloads to-date, Luxor was always going to be arriving on the App Store at some point.

Now we know that point will be during August, thanks to a deal between the game's creator MumboJumbo and Plus+ Publishing, part of ngmoco.

It will be in competition with current top 30 game StoneLoops! of Jurassica, as well as Connect2Media's soon-to-be-released Tumblebugs.

The ancient Egyptian-themed game has you firing coloured balls into long flows of slow-moving coloured balls, trying to make chains of at least three colours to make those balls disappear, and ultimately clear the whole flow.

The game will also used ngmoco's Plus+ social networking technology to enable you to send challenges to your friends via Facebook and Twitter, get a ranking on friends and global leaderboards, as well as earn points.

Luxor is the first game to be released by Plus+ Publishing and one of the first to use the Plus+ technology. Another example is Freeverse's Flick Fishing.

"Plus+ publishing is delighted to team up with a talented company like MumboJumbo to launch our first title," said Simon Jeffery, Plus+'s chief publishing officer.

"We are delighted to work with Plus+, drawing on the company's unrivaled marketing capabilities as well as the Plus+ Network player benefits that will enhance the Luxor experience on our fans' favourite device," echoed Mark Cottam, Mumbo Jumbo's CEO.

Luxor is due for release on the App Store during August.
