Former Nokia employee jumps back into play with iOS game Lost Robot
Wheelin' and dealin'
What do you do when as a Nokia employee, it shut down its Copenhagen product development office, laying you off?
"I wanted to stay in the industry that I have come to love, and at the same time I wanted to do something fun, interesting and independent," Benjamin Hald tell us.
SO, of course, he decided to set up his own one-man studio - LowLineLab - and he's just released his first iOS game.
Don't wobbleCalled Lost Robot, he describes it as a mixture of the arcade, action and puzzle genres, as you have to help the lost robot - which is riding an one-wheeled bike - make it through the levels.
The robot moves automatically, so you have to manipulate the environment as it goes in terms of opening gates, controlling bridges, and avoiding spikes to get him to the end. Difficulty is layered with the three gears available in each level that you can collect.
"I think the game has a dark feeling," Hald explains.
"As one of my friends said: 'It's like Contre Jour - just powered with a V8!'. That's really the best way to describe it!
Lost Robot is out now, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.49.
