LittleBigPlanet 2 is set for release on PS3 early next year, but there are already rumours of Media Molecule's imagination-fuelled create-'em-up making a handheld appearance on PSP.

The rumour originates from GAME Australia, where the game is listed for release in 2011.

Media Molecule debunked speculation via Twitter when a similar rumour floated about in July, but the developer could well have been busy on the project over the last five months.

The PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet 2 promises to build massively on the much-praised original. It'll feature vehicles, programmable AI characters, the ability to create cut-scenes, and even link your homespun levels into entire new games.

Quite how much of this Media Molecule will be able to squeeze onto PSP is unkown, but the first LittleBigPlanet on PSP did a masterful job of condensing the console version into a manageable package.

Of course, these are only rumours. The specualtion could be way wide of the mark. Either way, with the console game out in January and the elusive PSP 2 almost bound to drop some time in 2011, next year looks very interesting indeed for handheld level sharing.
