Lenovo creates best-looking Android phone ever

Shame we'll probably never get to own it

We're constantly bombarded with mobile phone designs which are supposed to get our pulses racing, but the sad fact is that most handsets available these days are pretty plain and hardly what you'd call objects of desire (with the iPhone and Palm Pre being possible exceptions).

However, Lenovo's ridiculously-named Lephone is a little different: it's drop-dead gorgeous and has us positively salivating here at Pocket Gamer Towers.

The Android-based phone has all the usual mod-cons: 480x800 pixel touchscreen, handy 3.5mm headphone jack, prerequisite 3 megapixel digital camera, and so on. It also packs a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for nippy multi-tasking and other functions.

However, one feature that is truly unique is the ability to detach the keyboard, which in addition to allowing you to type also forms a handy carrycase when the phone is in your pocket.

Sadly, early reports seem to suggest that this beautiful piece of consumer electronics isn't going to be making its way to these shores any time soon - the manufacturer has confirmed that it is only designed to operate on China's WCDMA mobile network.

With that in mind, you might want to think twice before perusing Lenovo's Flickr photostream, which contains even more fetching images of this striking device.

Damien's mum hoped he would grow out of playing silly video games and gain respectable employment. Perhaps become a teacher or a scientist, that kind of thing. Needless to say she now weeps openly whenever anyone asks how her son's getting on these days.
