Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris lets you plunder Egyptian tombs with up to three friends

Top-tier porting specialists Feral Interactive have announced that they will bring Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris to mobile on September 8th. Those familiar with the series will know this is the second entry in the mini-series, following on from Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which Feral released last year and it impressed us quite a bit.

It sees everyone's favourite 90s video game character heading to Egypt, descending into tombs in a bid to reunite the scattered Fragments of Osiris. If she doesn’t, Set, God of Chaos, will fulfil his dream of enslaving the entirety of the human race. It's safe to say, Lara's got a fair bit of pressure on her shoulders.

Fortunately, she doesn't have to fight Set and his hordes of enemies alone, unless you're the staunchly solo type. If you are open to a spot of co-op, though, you can team up with three other players to solve puzzles and leap across perilous gaps together. 

Walk Like an Egyptian

As you'd likely expect from Feral, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will launch with full controller support. In fact, you can even play it with a keyboard and mouse if you choose to. Either of those is probably a good option since twin-stick shooters don't always translate perfectly to touchscreen, though I've no doubt Feral will do a sterling job. 

I'll definitely keep my eye on this. I first played the original at university when it was available as part of Xbox Games with Gold, when that was a thing before Game Pass replaced it in 2023. Despite enjoying it tremendously, even in co-op, which isn't usually my bag, I never got around to playing the sequel. Now seems like as good a time as any, I reckon.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris will arrive on the App Store and Google Play on September 8th. It will use a try-before-you-buy model with the full version costing $9.99. Pre-registration is expected to start soon.
