Cave Story creator Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya has renamed his retro-style iPhone run-and-gun game Gero Blaster.

Oh, and he's given it a release date.

Gero Blaster is now Kero Blaster, then. And Kero Blaster will be available on iOS and Windows on May 11th.

We've gleaned all this information from a new trailer (embedded below) for the game on YouTube.

The dev doesn't reveal anything new about the game itself in the trailer, mind. But the promo video does serve as a good reminder for why we're looking forward to Kero Blaster.

So, yes, we're ruddy excited about the side-scrolling action, the laser guns, the screen-filling enemies, and the quirky story about a frog rescuing his lover.

There's more information on Kero Blaster over on its website. However, it is in Japanese.
