JioGames has partnered with Gamestream to bring cloud gaming to India
Reliance Jio has just announced that they have partnered with Gamestream, a leader in cloud gaming solutions, to bring a new and hot way of gaming to its homegrown platform, JioGames. The two companies have signed a ten-year deal, and this will enable 1.4 billion Indians to play whenever they want, wherever they want.
This move comes as a pretty big one because the Indian gaming industry is rapidly evolving. Especially mobile gaming, as not every household has access to consoles and high-end PCs. And with the advent of Jio’s True 5G network that offers super-fast speed, budding gamers throughout the country will be able to make use of the platform.
Other cloud gaming platforms like GeForce Now and xCloud aren’t available in India yet and the only way to currently access them is through VPN. This gives JioGamesCloud a clear path to operate officially within the country, at least until the other companies enter the Indian market.
The partnership will surely prove to be a fruitful one. Gamestream has cloud gaming supremacy and is an expert in the field, while Reliance Jio has all the connectivity throughout the country to ensure that the platform spreads. As of now, JioGamesCloud is in the public beta and is available on their own Set Top Box, Android Smartphones, and a few web browsers.
Currently, their library includes titles from the Saints Row series, Deliver Us the Moon, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Encodya, and more. The collaboration will definitely add more games to the roster. JioGamesCloud is promising to bring console-like gameplay and high-end graphics that typically require expensive systems to any device, be it a smartphone, or TV.
They aim to revolutionize the gaming industry in India with the introduction of cloud gaming as more and more people are getting into gaming.
