Get a dose of retro arcade iOS action in Pac-Man-like maze shooter Inferno
Insane in the membrane
Playing a bit like Pac-Man, albeit swapping ghosts for robot guards, comes arcade action game Inferno.
The debut release from Paradise Games (part of Emobix), you're apparently battling malfunctioning security systems to put out the burning core of a nuclear power plant.
Basically, this means you're flying some sort of on-rail space ship that 'puts out fires' by driving over them, dodging robot guards and traps as you go.
Back to the futureUnashamedly retro in art style and theme, you control your craft using virtual joysticks, gaining weapons and power ups as you make your way around each of 20 timed missions. Also included are bonus levels and hidden surprises, plus over 20 achievements via Game Center.
Inferno is out now for iPad and iPhone in a universal build, priced 99c, €0.79 or 69p.
You can see how it plays in the following video.
