TLR Games has been slowly revealing information about the upcoming exploration platforming game, IDEA for some time now. When we last heard from the team in November, it was announced the critically acclaimed title would launch in January 2023. While that didn’t happen, we now have an official release date to go by.

IDEA will arrive on Steam, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android on March 8th. The announcement has been made alongside a brand new trailer for the game, which also commemorates IDEA winning yet another award – Best Visual Design at the IndieCade 2022. Eager players can expect to see new areas and Spirits, which is a new way of naming users’ messages.

The award-winning title has quickly become one of the most anticipated games with loads of people looking forward to its launch. It is inspired by Olli Huttunen’s short film of the same name. Gameplay-wise, it employs elements of physics and platforming in a gorgeous world where the primary goal is to formulate ideas.

Each level, per se, starts off with a bird’s eye view of a breathtaking landscape recorded in 4K. Then, players must put on their thinking caps and come up with an idea that is represented by a white lightbulb. This must come tumbling down in the world where it must find its place before the music ends.

If players manage to reach their destination in time, the idea turns into a beautiful artistic composition like a short clip. There is no failing in IDEA. Meaning, those that who are unable to create an idea will not lose. Their journey simply ends there, but it will still be useful as it can inspire others’ ideas or even the player themselves.

IDEA follows the principles of being a soothing and poetic experience, giving utmost importance to feelings and emotions that come up thanks to this culmination of art, music, and gameplay. The Steam page has a good deal of information to check out too.
