Headcrash Hotel is a new project that looks to create visually impressive art experiences for anyone to enjoy regardless of the device through Pixel Streaming. Set it in the titular hotel, players will explore several conceptual art spaces at their leisure, which, based on the early examples, should look pretty spectacular.

Over time, the developers plan to include a mixture of single-player, narrative-driven content and multiplayer experiences, allowing like-minded people to connect in parties of 10. Here, they can attend parties, exhibitions, and gigs. Of course, that means players will need to create a 3D avatar to represent themselves.

Obviously, a big focus for Headcrash Hotel is the aesthetics, with the team searching for talented artists familiar with the Unreal Engine crafting each experience. The reason for this approach is, according to the developers, that the current crop of metaverse options are kind of ugly. While they might improve over time, Headcrash Hotel aims to look great from the start and expand from there.

Monetisation comes in the form of a season package or subscription, and new content will come from the community of Unreal Engine artists, who will create rooms for other players to visit. Once submitted, the Headcrash Hotel team will curate the best experiences and add them to the game. Anyone whose work gets included will earn a share of the royalties.

Beyond that, there are plans to collaborate with well-known artists, regardless of their expertise with Unreal Engine, to bring their creations to life in Headcrash Hotel.

It's still early days for Headcrash Hotel, but I like the concept. Though it arguably won't be viewed as a game by many people, the idea of walking through and getting up close and personal with 3D art is cool. It all depends on the execution and how involved the community will become. At the moment, the team is searching for investors, so it's still an ongoing project.
