Harvest Moon: The Earth’s Origin announced for 3DS in early 2012

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published some details on a new Harvest Moon title for 3DS entitled Bokujou Monogatari: Hajimari no Daichi.

For those non-Japanese speakers out there, this loosely translates into English as Harvest Moon: The Earth's Origin, the 'Earth' in this instance referring to soil, not to the planet.

Whatever it ends up being called in the West when it's released in early 2012, the game will feature extensive customisation.

In addition to creating your own farm and home, you will be able to decide your farming avatar’s skin, hair, clothing, and eye colour. By visiting the salon later on in the game, you'll be able to tinker with your hairdo, too, should you deem a change necessary.

Start making plans for that haircut now, so that you're fully prepared for Harvest Moon: The Earth's Origin come the start of next year.
