For whatever reason, my youngest Robin absolutely loves Goat Simulator. There is just something about the game - running around as a silly goat, causing all sorts of mayhem -that has a grip on her fun levels! With Goat Simulator recently releasing their expansion pack Multiverse of Nonsense, this controller fits in perfectly with all the hype.
Unboxing the NEO S Goat Simulator Edition controller, you are greeted with a baby blue and bright pink, which feels quite playful and fun. On the front, you can clearly see a goat, flying through the air while wearing a jetpack, which is quite unique and stylish. It's got rounded edges, pink buttons on the back, and a lovely light blue stand to charge it on. The controller also comes with a cable to charge with, which is a decent length considering the cables I have been getting recently. It's a USB to USB-C cable. Robin was delighted with the colour choices, as they do feel so fun!
The controller is set up exactly like you'd expect if you have used Xbox controllers in the past: two thumbsticks, a D-pad, X, Y, A, and B buttons. Unlike an Xbox, there is a Home button with the NEO S logo on it, and three little buttons: view, share and Menu. On the top there is a Left and LZ trigger as well as an R and RZ, and on the back there are two quick access buttons labelled S1 and S2.
In the app, you scan your specific controller, then unlock stats like the product number to see what number out of the total they made you get. It feels very, very fun as you wait for the number to tick over on the screen! There is a rarity setting as well, so you can really build up a collection.
On this app, you can also remap individual buttons, change the sensitivity of the triggers, enable No Deadzone Mode for increased sensitivity for your thumbsticks, and change the amount of rumble the controller has. There is also a battery level that shows how much battery life you have left.
You can connect the controller easily to your device, mobile phone, Nintendo Switch or PC. This is just done via Bluetooth. There are different ways to connect it depending on the various platforms you want to connect it to. If you are used to using controllers, it very much feels like a quality one, and with all of the adjustments you can make, you could easily ensure the controller works perfectly for you. I personally like adjusting the rumble, as I find it quite distracting.
