Guitar Rock Tour released for iPhone (but not iPod touch)

The App Store gets its confusing funk on with Guitar Hero on Tour clone

Guitar Rock Tour released for iPhone (but not iPod touch)

The School of Rock app was pretty good at what it did, but it didn't really deliver on the suggestion of its title. It appears Gameloft's Guitar Rock Tour won't suffer from any such problems, however, as it brings the guitar and drums to the iPhone in head-thrashing, shoe-staring style. We heard about the DS version of this game recently, though Gameloft only spoke of a US release.

Featuring such 'classics' as 'Beat It', 'In the Shadow, Girlfriend', 'Message in a Bottle', 'Rock You like a Hurricane', 'Smoke on the Water' and more, the game takes you from garage to stadium in Career mode.

It also promises to feature mild/infrequent alcohol, tobacco and drug use references along with a bit of mild/infrequent sexual content and nudity. Awesome.

Be warned, however: this game only works on iPhones. We hope this isn't a sign of things to come (touchies left out in the cold, like) but for the time being iPod touch users will have to stick to learning their scales on School of Rock. (Or play a different music/guitar rhythm game.)

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
