Popular colour-matching puzzler Grindstone, developed by Capybara Games, has revealed its next big content update. The Cosmic Darkside update introduces an absurd amount of content ranging from remixes of the first 60 levels, a completely new world to explore with new enemies as well, more resources to collect and items to use in battle.

Let’s start with the two new enemy types. The Cosmic Creep and the Cosmic Jerk bring a new infection mechanic that will cause them to, if not killed fast enough, explode and infect other nearby enemies and Grindstones. This could cause a troublesome chain reaction of explosive mobs if you aren’t quick to kill them all. Alongside these enemies, a new resource to collect is being introduced called Osmium, a resource that if left on the board for too long will also infect nearby enemies and Grindstones. If you do collect it in time, however, it can be used to craft new cosmic gear. If this new infection explosion mechanic hits your character, you’ll have a limited amount of time to collect the heart you lost back after taking damage on top.

Of course, there are a ton of new levels being added too. Along with the 60 remixed levels, each with new goals to complete, there’s new story content and a brand new cutscene. With those remixed levels there’s the new Cosmic-themed map too, and there are even new Cosmic Darkside-specific events to complete as well. So, needless to say, this update is massive and will add even more hours to an already massive game.
