Genshin Impact's version 2.6 update introduces new region The Chasm

Genshin Impact’s upcoming version 2.6 update – Zephyr of the Violet Garden is just around the corner. It will go live next week on March 30th and is bringing a new playable area located just west of Liyue – The Chasm. The mysterious mining ground was one of Liyue’s chief sources of ore but is now plagued by monsters. 

The Chasm is a magnificent geological structure with towering mountains and bottomless pits. Everything about this region is rather peculiar and that’s what forced all the workers away. Since work hadn’t been completed, the mines are dotted with numerous cranes and Spoutrocks to aid in reaching high places. Scattered throughout the region are cage-shaped rock formations that can be hit to destroy Bedrock Keys that were left behind by the Liyue Qixing. Breaking these will remove all the surrounding magic, allowing entry into the Chasm.

The Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering quest will unlock the Underground Mines of the Chasm of completion. This entire terrain is dangerous and the lack of light makes traversal even more difficult. To help players out, a new gadget called the Lumenstone Adjuvant has been introduced. As long as it has energy, it will light the way ahead. The device can be replenished at special points or by being close to a Luminous Seelie. Adventurers must be careful of the dark mud in this region, which will deplete both HP and mobility.

This darkness will provide monsters with additional energy and must be cleared to weaken them quickly. The Chasm has varied and unique fauna such as Floating Hydro Fungus, Bluethunder Weasels, Lucklight Flies, and more. There are some bigger enemies waiting for players to. Expect to encounter the Black Serpent Knight: Windcutter, the court’s guard and a strong warrior who will gain buffs when targeting shielded enemies, while losing some health.

At the end of it all, awaits the Ruin Serpent, an ancient machine. Don’t be fooled by its age because it is immensely powerful, and can create Oozing Concentrations to gain an energy boost and deal massive damage. These must be destroyed by the Lumenstone to knock the machine out and stop its functioning.
