Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots flying onto the iPhone on October 20th

Australian developer Halfbrick has released the first trailer for upcoming slash-'em-up sequel Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots, which features DreamWorks's loud-mouthed sword-wielding cat, whom you'll probably know from the Shrek movies.

So what's new?

Well, Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots features a brand-new mode titled Bandito, which tasks you with completing several precision and timing challenges, overcoming new obstacles, and slashing gigantic fruit from the Giant's castle.

There's also a new Desperado mode - an enhanced version of the classic Fruit Ninja experience - that features greater amounts of juicy fruit, and Puss in Boots's Magic Beans.

Naturally, there's a whole host of new backgrounds and blades to unlock as you play, some of which contain elements from the upcoming movie.

And you'll finally be able to slice and dice your way through icky tomatoes.

Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots will hit the App Store on October 20th. You can check out the game's debut trailer below while you wait.
