Fright Fight is a multiplayer brawler for iPad and iPhone that might have its tricks too far up its sleeve
Kick it
Have you ever wondered who would win in a fight between a werewolf, a giant Yeti thing, and a couple of scythe-wielding Death look-alikes?
No, I haven't, either. Someone obviously has, though... otherwise Fright Fight wouldn't exist.
It's an online-only multiplayer brawler that sees you taking on a bunch of terrifying monsters in free-for-all scraps to the death.
These are side-on Super Smash Bros.-style punch-ups that essentially see you mashing the screen, trying to knock chunks off your opponent's health bars or push your enemy off the edge of the arenas.
By swiping the left of the screen, you move around. By tapping on the right, meanwhile, you can perform a flurry of punches. You can hold down to charge up a special move, or swipe to jump around.
The controls are a bit cumbersome, and the lack of a local multiplayer or single-player mode makes for some pretty mean pickings when it comes to actually finding games.
There's a lot of 'shopfront' going on, too. You only unlock one playable character at the start of the game. You'll need to grind or pay to get any of the others.
It feels like there might be a quite interesting game here somewhere. Given it's free, though, there's nothing really stopping you from trying to dig it out yourself.
Fright Fight is out on the App Store right now if you fancy giving it a quick go.
