1
Havoc Pump Shotgun

Havoc Pump Shotgun

The best shotgun to use in the current chapter is the Havoc Pump Shotgun and for a good reason. This shotgun has a low fire rate but makes up for it with its highest damage per shot. Therefore, the best way to use it is to fire it once at your opponent, then switch to any Submachine Gun to finish them off. Doing this is more effective than having to wait for your next shot during intense fights. When using this gun, make sure to also be mindful of its spray pattern, which is wider than most shotguns. This makes the gun less effective at longer ranges but packs a deadly punch at close-range fights.

2
Maven Auto Shotgun

Maven Auto Shotgun

Next up is Maven Auto Shotgun. This shotgun has a relatively high fire rate, making it an excellent option for those who prefer a spray-and-pray playstyle. It also has the same amount of magazine size as the Havoc Pump Shotgun, giving you options to keep shooting other players with the same weapon or switch once you deal severe damage. However, it has a lower damage per shot than Havoc Pump Shotgun, meaning it's not as effective at taking out enemies in one hit.

3
Charge Shotgun

Charge Shotgun

The Charge Shotgun is a close-range weapon that comes with the Flintlock Pistol, which can only be obtained by activating the Go For Broke augment. Each shot from the Charge Shotgun can be fully charged, and then released to deal maximum impact by holding the left-click button. While this weapon requires you to be more tactical in your playstyle compared to other shotguns, the range of the Charge Shotgun allows you to play from a safer distance, unlike other shotguns. To make the most of this weapon, you'll want to fire normally during fast-paced battles and charge the gun when flanking an enemy.

4
Heisted Accelerant Shotgun

Heisted Accelerant Shotgun

The Heisted Accelerant Shotgun is the exotic version of the Maven Auto Shotgun. It works the same way as the Maven Auto Shotgun, but there's a catch. Every time your bullets hit an enemy, your character will gain a speed boost effect, allowing you to run faster to either finish them off or take the opportunity to reposition yourself. Similar to the Charge Shotgun, the only way you can get this weapon is by unlocking it from an augment. Unfortunately, augments are random. If you want to use this high-damage-per-shot weapon, you'll want to keep rerolling your options until you find the Exotic Grab augment.

5
Heisted Breacher Shotgun

Heisted Breacher Shotgun

Another decent shotgun option in Fortnite is the Heisted Breacher Shotgun. This shotgun is the exotic version of the Heavy Shotgun with no additional effects. The Heisted Breacher Shotgun fires a single pellet instead of spraying bullets. The good thing about it is that you can hit more precise shots, but it also means you won't be able to use it for trick shots. While it has a relatively slow fire rate like the Havoc Pump Shotgun, this weapon deals a decent amount of damage against structures, perfect for Team Rumble or enemies who have godlike building abilities. You can also only get this weapon via unlocking the Exotic Grab augment.

6
Combat Shotgun

Combat Shotgun

Finally, the Combat Shotgun comes last. It's the least desirable among the other shotguns, with less damage per shot than most. However, the good thing about it is it's incredibly easy to use, with a more focused pattern that makes it effective at both close and medium ranges. It also has a larger magazine size than Havoc Pump Shotgun and Maven Auto Shotgun, allowing you to fire more shots before you need to reload.

These are the best shotguns in Fortnite at the moment, but the meta could change in one of the future updates, so keep checking this guide to stay in the know.
