Fortnite's Refer a Friend program is back alongside the new Xander skin set

Fortnite’s Refer a Friend program has returned for another year once again. In case you haven’t heard about it, the Refer a Friend program encourages players to bring friends who haven’t played Fortnite in a while back so that both of them can get lots of rewards. Sure, it is a way to increase and rejuvenate the player base but participants also end up getting a skin and some other items for free. This year, the program begins today and will run all the way up until January 10th, 2023.

The steps involved are pretty simple. Referring players must sign up on the Refer a Friend website using their Epic account that is linked to Fortnite. Then, they can invite up to five other people through the website itself, using their gamer tags. Following this, the players can band together and complete a few tasks which will eventually unlock the rewards. They include the Xander outfit and edit style, Back Bling, Wrap, Spray, and Pickaxe.

The catch here is that players cannot invite their friends who have been regularly playing Fortnite. The program allows referees' accounts to have players not more than two hours of Fortnite in the last 30 days. Now you must be thinking that this can easily be avoided by creating a brand new account. While it is possible, it will probably be a much more tedious process.

Both players will be required to earn points by completing tasks given to them. These include playing matches together, getting eliminations and levelling up the accounts. Items are given out when a particular challenge is completed. To earn the Xander outfit itself, players must level up their account by 60 career levels, which is why I mentioned that it may not make sense to make a new account.

Have a friend that hasn’t played Fortnite in a while? Then download the battle royale now via the official website or play on XCloud.
