Subatomic Studios releases major update for original Fieldrunners
A colourful classic
After releasing the long-awaited sequel to Fieldrunners this summer, Subatomic Studios decided to go back and give the original tower defense game some much-needed love.
This love comes in the form of a new update that overhauls the graphics of the original to optimise them for new (and upcoming) iPhones.
In the new version 1.6.0 update, Fieldrunners receives full retina display support, and the artwork from the original game was completely redrawn so it would shine in the new higher resolution. Fieldrunners will also now support 32-bit colours on the iPhone 4, 4S, and - it can be assumed - the iPhone 5.
In addition to the upgraded and updated graphics, Subatomic also added a full soundtrack to Fieldrunners.
Version 1.6.0 is available for download now from the App Store and is the first update to the original Fieldrunners since the 1.5.3 update that rolled out in February of 2011.
To celebrate this new update, the original Fieldrunners is now on sale for 99c/69p.
