Top 5 easiest Platinum trophies for PS Vita
Grind on the go
I love PlayStation trophies far too much. I cannot explain why they excite me, but whenever the bell rings and the PS3 trophy pops up in the corner of my TV screen, a big smile forms on my face.
That is why, of course, the thought of earning trophies on the PS Vita makes me equally ready and willing to put myself through hell and back just to see that Bronze, Silver, Gold and - very, very rarely - Platinum shine.
Speaking of Platinum trophies, wouldn't it be nice if someone put together a list of the easiest Platinums to grab via PS Vita games? Well, hey, you're in luck: we've compiled a list of the five Vita games we think have the easiest Platinum trophies to collect.
Now, when we say 'easiest', we actually mean 'least infuriating'. But, if we can grab them, then you must surely be able to, as well. Just be prepared to grind a little in some cases!
Virtua Tennis 4 : World Tour Edition
Virtua Tennis 4 : World Tour Edition was a surprise source of enjoyment at the Vita's launch, providing not simply a rushed port of the console game, but an entirely separate experience that works wonders on the handheld.
Virtua Tennis 4's trophies aren't too difficult to grab, either, as long as you're willing to put a little extra time in. Essentially, the majority of the trophies can be bagged by simply playing through the main Story mode twice. This will take you around 8-10 hours, depending on how well you play.
By that point, you should have around 60 per cent of the trophies. Now, simply go through every mode and play the set number of times each trophy specifies. This is usually once for each AR game, and 5/10 times for the main modes. Use all the different tennis players for each game, too, so you can grab the trophy for using every player.
At this point, you should only be left with the trickier trophies. You'll need to go online and get a rank A, which should take a good few hours - fortunately, you don't actually need to win matches online to level-up, which is good given how laggy the online play can be.
The other two trophies which are difficult to get are the "10 straight royal flushes" in Poker, and "beating the King" in Arcade mode. For the Poker game, keep playing the mini-game over and over, and whenever you get to level 4 of it, aim to get 10, J, Q, K, A of a single suit.
For the King, you'll need to beat him at the end of the Story mode to unlock him for Arcade mode - if you are losing against him, simply restart the whole game and try again. Once you've done that, it's simply a case of making your way through Arcade mode and beating him in the last round.
F1 2011
Another Vita launch game which surprised us, given it was bursting with content rather than rushed out for the hardware release. The trophies in F1 2011 are all pretty easy to get, although you will need to play through the entire game to get every one.
The majority come from simply playing through a single season perfectly - so, you need to get pole position in every qualifier and then win every race. This is made stupidly easy by adjusting the difficulty setting to Easy and turning all driving aids on.
If you then fiddle around with the driving aids for certain trophies - such as the ones which ask you to sustain damage or win a race with all driving aids disabled - that should bag you another good portion of the trophies.
It's then a case of mopping up the remaining trophies by aiming for specific goals in Quick Race and completing Challenge Mode.
Of course, if you're not very good at racing games, then this may not exactly be a walk in the park. F1 2011 is a seriously easy-to-beat game, though, that shouldn't really test even the worst virtual racing drivers. Grab Platinum trophy, be happy.
Rayman Origins
What makes getting all the trophies in Rayman Origins so much fun is that you'll actually want to. See, this is a seriously great game, and the majority of the trophies are given away for simply finishing every aspect of the game, rather than grinding stats or completing silly tasks.
Play through the entire game and grab every Electoon, cage, speed trophy, and skull tooth, and you'll have bagged yourself nearly every trophy. Of course, that's all easier said than done, but like we said - you'll have great fun throughout, so it really isn't much of a chore.
Many of the other trophies will then be snagged naturally by simply playing through the main story, such as flying for an hour, and crushing a specific number of enemies.
As for the remainder, it's just a case of mopping up loose ends, really, with nothing at all liable to prove especially challenging.
If you can't find a specific cage in a level, note that the Electoon parts fall into the medal in order - in other words, if you have one cage but not the other, you will be able to see which part of the level it is in by whether the previous cage fell into slot one or two on the main medal.
MotorStorm RC
Like in Rayman Origins, earning trophies in MotorStorm RC is simply a case of completing the game with every medal collected.
Grab gold medals on every level in the game, and that should bag you around 60 per cent of the trophies on show. Now, head to the playground part of the game, play with each of the cars, dunk yourself in two of the basketball hoops, and you've got yourself another good portion of the trophy list.
Now is time to mop up the rest. Visit the Pitwall and beat ten scores from friends (you'll need at least one friend, of course!), then jump into the "Wipe Out" level and play it over and over and over again until you manage to beat that tricky time of 17 seconds.
What's great about MotorStorm RC is that it is the only PSN game to feature a Platinum trophy - usually, PSN download-only games have a cut-down selection of trophies, with no Platinum in sight.
We're not going to question this change when we can bag a Plat for just £4.79!
Michael Jackson: The Experience HD
MJ's move to the PS Vita supplies us with another achievable Platinum trophy, although there's a bit of grind involved.
Playing through the main HIStory mode and completing all 15 tracks on Expert will yield a good portion of the game's PSN trophies, earning you the trophies that require you to finish songs on Medium difficulty and beyond.
It then becomes a grindathon to collect all the various MJ figures, gloves, and costumes, although during this time you will also gradually build up to level 20 and grab that precious Gold trophy.
The really tricky trophies come from the "Perform X Perfect moves in a row on Y song". You essentially need to try, try, try again to bag these, though fortunately there are only two of them, so it's not the most awful way to spend an evening.
The other trophies here and there come from simply earning a set number of points on a set song, or using a specific costume. Definitely one of the easiest Platinum trophies to get.
