The App Stork: Introducing iSpacePort, Kraktoa Jr and Rookie Mage
Our free iPhone app adoption service takes flight once more...

Three more titles for you this week. Not much that you haven’t seen in the wonderful world of iPhone gaming, admittedly, but plenty of quiet design epiphanies to be enjoyed all the same.
A word to the wise. If you are an iPhone developer and you're keen to have your game featured in the top three of the App Stork’s picks, be sure to post in the iPhone and iPod touch developer news section of the forum and not the iPhone and iPod touch games chat section.
We do actively move topics into the right place, so your efforts are not lost, but there's a chance we won’t see them in time to include them if they're posted in the wrong forum.
It also means that any of the devastatingly attractive and discerning readers who have the good sense and general awesomeness to adhere to the App Stork’s weekly recommendations, will have less chance of stumbling upon your game.
Remember, like most birds the App Stork likes shiny things so the more links to YouTube videos, flashy websites and images you post, the more likely it is that your game will be featured. That’s it for now. Don’t forget to check the games at the bottom of the page, too!
iSpacePort - LuckyBastards
The reasons for which iSpacePort’s creators gave their company such a bombastic handle are unclear, but the source of inspiration for said game is plain as day.
Not that that’s a bad thing. Flight Control is more of a burgeoning genre than a single game these days, and iSpacePort takes the formula into the ionosphere and beyond - all in the name of saving mankind.
To that end, the game needs little description, but it’s clear that iSpacePort’s premise lends itself well to interjecting a pleasant diversity of celestial locales to the proceedings. It’s also nice to see a little drama, which you can catch in the short intro movie below. iSpacePort is out now, priced 59p.

Krakatoa Jr - Every Frame Counts Erupting volcanoes are a nuisance, especially in association with a single-file troupe of gyrating hula girls, which is exactly what Krakatoa Jr is all about. You have to lead a queue of grass skirt clad lovelys out harms way, avoiding flowing rivers of lava, rolling boulders and other volcano related health and safety concerns.
It’s an original concept, even if the game does share some ideas with classics such as Snake, and the 3D visuals are top ticket quality. This one’s another bargain at 59p - get it while it’s hot.

Rookie Mage - Rookie Studio We all have to start somewhere, even all powerful mages. Luckily, there's no shortage of cascading foes to zap into oblivion in Rookie Mage, so there’s no excuse for not passing those punishing mage, end of year finals.
The basic set up is: shoot everything that moves. Only you’re not armed with a gun - you’re armed with your arms. Being attached to a mage, your arms are pretty magical and capable of blasting seven shades of mediaeval mystical stuffing out of any lesser creature who affronts your good stature.
In Rookie Mage, these foes take the form of various different types of egg, which is deliciously odd. This little blaster completes the budget trio this week at 59p again.
