  • eFootball, Konami's top multiplatform football simulator, is introducing a new brand ambassador
  • Famed youth footballer Lamine Yamal serves as new ambassador, as well as being introduced in-game
  • His in-game character boasts the Acceleration Burst skill, based on his on-pitch dribbling ability

It's safe to say that Konami seems to have hit gold with their multiplatform footballing sim eFootball. Whether that's partnerships with top-flight teams or collaborations with famous anime series; and now a new milestone has been struck with the integration of their latest brand ambassador Lamine Yamal.

For followers of up-and-coming players in football, Lamine Yamal should need little introduction. A youth prodigy who has trained at the prestigious La Masia, FC Barcelona's youth academy, Yamal is considered one to watch when it comes to prodigy players. Little surprise then that he's been picked out by Konami as their newest brand ambassador.

To mark Yamal's introduction to the series you'll now be able to recruit him as an Epic-level player, alongside a Big Time version of Neymar Jr. and another Epic player in the form of Takefusa Kubo. These players boast the Acceleration Burst skills, which boosts their speed in dribbling and is themed after these players' well-documented skills on the pitch.

Not only that, but to mark the occasion eFootball has also introduced a new Carnival Campaign where you can earn free eFootball Coins and exclusive rewards to mark this new addition! Log in now to receive a limited-edition carnival-themed uniform.

Yamal's pedigree as an up-and-coming footballer also speaks to the broad appeal (and hopefully) youthful audience Konami looks set to cultivate. I think that it's certainly fair to speculate that if eFootball is looking to compete with heavyweights like EA, appealing to the vibrant footballing audience means integrating more of its culture and top players.

Still, if you're looking for more options in the world of sports simulation, be that authentic or arcade, you won't have to go far. Instead, check in on our lists of the top 25 best football games for iOS and Android!
