EA Sports Madden NFL 27 brings pro-football action to mobile and Apple Arcade for the first time

With it being such a scorcher this summer, I think the Americans have the right idea, leaving most of their major sports outings until the autumn. And one of the most popular will be the American NFL with its high-octane competitions. But if you're looking to experience that excitement for yourself, then Madden NFL 27 is the place to be.

If you're somehow not already familiar, the EA Sports Madden NFL series is their equivalent to the (now former) EA FIFA series. Allowing you to manage top teams drawn from real-world competitors, craft your own lineup and even play through games yourself, it may not be the most comprehensive sports sim series, but it's undoubtedly one of the most popular.

Mobile Madden

Not only that, but this is the first time that the Madden series is making the jump to Apple Arcade. This means that not only can you play it on your mobile platform of choice, but if you're an Apple Arcade subscriber, you can simply dive in and have a go.

Madden NFL 27 has already courted your typical EA controversy over prices and in-app purchases, but this newest version does have some interesting innovations. The new franchise mode is built on the Persona Engine, which seeks to replicate real-world behaviours, influencing how your NPC players act.

Meanwhile, changing weather can alter the whole dynamic of the game, and different gameday traditions can make you feel as if you're really sat down watching a game. So, if you're a dedicated NFL fan or total newcomer, Madden 27 may be worth playing.
