Smash hit social puzzler Diamond Dash is on its way to Android, some eight months after it was released on iOS.

Wooga's free-to-play match-three puzzler has been downloaded over 20 million times on Apple devices since its debut last December, and was one of the first mobile games to implement Facebook Connect features.

This reflects Wooga's history as a social network games expert. Indeed, mobile is a relatively recent venture for the company, and it has only just outlined its strategy for portable games.

Wooga has revealed that it will port each of its most successful Facebook games over to mobile platforms, as well as develop brand-new IP especially for smartphones and tablets.

Connecting people

Unsurprisingly, getting players connected is at the heart of Wooga's mobile strategy. The company has revealed the intriguing stat that "Diamond Dash mobile players who choose to connect with friends via Facebook are eight times more likely to spend money and significantly more engaged than users who play without logging in."

Wooga has also announced that Monster World, one of its first social games, will be the next to make its way to iPhone and iPad. The game sees you growing and maintaining an exotic monster garden filled with chocolate flowers and unicorn trees. Awwww.

Both Diamond Dash for Android and Monster World for iOS will arrive this autumn.
