A tablet edition of Dexter the Game, a stealthy adventure based on Showtime’s grim drama series, has been released on iPad.
The game puts you in the bloodstained shoes of Dexter Morgan, crime scene investigator by day and violent serial killer by night, a twisted vigilante who exacts his own brand of justice on the area’s criminals.
In the game you’ll be assessing crime scenes and uncovering evidence, before sneaking around some naughty man’s house and garroting him with a bit of piano wire. You’ll need to be sneaky to stay out of sight, and sly to get to your target: scaling fences, picking locks, and decoding passwords.
For Dexter fans, this should be exciting. The storyline has been written by the show’s producer Tim Schlattmann, and the serial killer’s voice is provided by the show’s star Michael C. Hall.
We gave the iPhone edition a sparkly Bronze Award, calling it an “ambitious adventure game”, but the impressive packaged was spoiled by nuisance “bugs and a lack of final polish”.
Dexter the Game HD is available to download now on iPad, and will set you back £4.99 / $7.99 / €5.99.
