Desta: The Memories Between is out now via Netflix, inviting players to explore a dreamlike world with some dodgeball action

Desta: The Memories Between, ustwo’s dreamlike narrative "ball game", is out now on iOS and Android via Netflix. The game features roguelike elements along with an engaging story and turn-based combat. It also boasts deep reflections on identity and loss as seen through the perspective of the titular non-binary protagonist.

In Desta: The Memories Between, players can expect to dive into some unique dodgeball gameplay while navigating through issues on "gender identity, sexuality and queer friendships/relationships." Players will uncover bits and pieces of Desta's past across a surreal dream world. Here, they can progress through levels via a curious little ball game, where players can show off their sick tricks while unlocking new abilities and meeting a diverse cast of colourful characters along the way.

The game also boasts roguelike elements along with live-ops that will keep the game continuously engaging. “This is an exciting new avenue for us, giving players the opportunity to grow and engage with Desta in a meaningful way over the coming months. We look forward to taking players even further into Desta’s dreams,” says ustwo games Chief Creative Officer, Danny Gray. Additionally, 3% of the game’s profits will be donated to youth organisations as well.
