Cluedo for mobile introduces 2016 cast and retro ruleset themed after the 1949 original
Whodunnit?

- Cluedo is introducing a new character pack featuring 2016 versions of the cast
- You'll also be able to play with the original 1949 ruleset
- It includes rules for set start locations and turn order
With its enormous variety of permutations and versions, it's hard to think of a classic board game that's more storied than Cluedo (or Clue, if you're wrong), save maybe bonafide titan of the genre Monopoly. Now, if you want to relive some of the retro fun of Cluedo, you can do so in Marmalade Game Studios' hit mobile adaptation!
Yes, not only are Marmalade set to introduce the cast of the 2016 edition of Cluedo, but you'll also be able to play the original 1949 ruleset if you so choose. The returning characters include Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr Orchid, and Mrs Peacock in their 2016 versions, although this will be as part of a paid pack.
But as for the retro ruleset, what can you expect to change in Cluedo? Well, this will revert a number of changes made for the 2023 digital edition. Tokens start at predetermined squares, characters play in sequence and you'll only be able to make one suggestion after entering a room.

The digital edition of Cluedo is certainly one that has a lot of love put into it, although it clearly takes a little bit from the social deduction genre that became so popular. At the same time though, Marmalade have gone a long way to continuously support Cluedo and bring it up to snuff with additional levels and more.
So, with that in mind, maybe now is the time to jump back in and see if you can solve the mystery once and for all.
