  • Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid has wrapped up its fundraising efforts
  • Now, the total sits at a whopping 9x its originally stated goal
  • The Epic Raid offers a tabletop experience tailored for fans

When it was first announced, I think few of you would have been surprised to learn how quickly Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid was funded. This tabletop spin-off of Supercell's hit RTS quickly surpassed its goal, and now, after finally closing the Kickstarter, it sits at a whopping 9x its original goal.

With an initial target of only $50,000, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid now sits at $491,000 total. It's not exactly surprising given how popular Clash of Clans is as a franchise, but it's still an impressive number, no doubt.

Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid has also been put into the hands of a number of board game enthusiast sites over the past few weeks, letting you get a closer look at how it works. Something that's sure to be welcome to those of you who want to know all the detials.

Not superfluous

Considering how Supercell have been pushing hard on crossovers and collabs in the previous months, as well as the announcements of new transmedia entries such as the upcoming Netflix series, it's not surprising that The Epic Raid proved to be such a popular launch with fans.

The next step then seems pretty obvious, and The Epic Raid looks to offer an authentic, fast-paced take on the format. Admittedly, for some of you, it might pass you completely by, with mobile gaming being very different from the tabletop, of course. But for those with even a passing interest, this might be one for this year's Christmas list!
