Chromatic Souls: AFK Raid introduces its first major update since launch, improving the endgame
Mobile gaming giant Com2uS’ idle RPG Chromatic Souls: AFK Raid has announced its first major update. This patch will bring with it a brand new World Boss mode alongside a bunch of new systems and content as well as some light quality-of-life changes.
The highlight of this update is certainly this new World-Boss Mode, so let’s touch on that first. This new way of playing is meant as a sort of addon to the end-game of Chromatic Souls and can be accessed by players who complete the Adventurer League content. Each week, there will be a World Boss for players who have done so, and they can then hunt down said World Boss and do battle with them for a variety of rewards and gear. Every week this boss will change in both which boss it is and the difficulty as well, so you’ll always have something to grind for. Players who participate in the slaying of the boss will receive special rewards and those who top the rankings during the week will receive the very rare Soul Stones.
As for the new content, we’ve got new skills for each class. Two new skills will be available to the Knight, Rogue, Mage, and Druid, and will offer up a new way to play your main class and spice it up in the variety department a bit. These new skills can be obtained by researching at the Tower of Knowledge. And finally, for quality-of-life, we’ve got new Forge and Gear Improvements. Players can now craft [R], [SR], and [SSR] Gear using Blue Gems and Red Gems at the Forge, as well as [UR] and [UR+] Gear via Gear Fusion. By enhancing your gear, players can buff themselves up enough to take on those difficult World Bosses.
And that’s what Chromatic Souls is introducing for its first major update! A new bit of content to hunt down on a weekly basis alongside some gear improvement and new skills all sounds like a good time.
