Is there a gaming genre that Gameloft hasn't attempted during 2009?

Shooter, racer, golf, football, American football, real-time strategy, turn-based strategy, RPG, beat-'em-up, kart racer, GTA clone, Chuck Norris game... All ticked off.

Well, in the quest to cover out the remainder before the year's end, the French publisher has just released its version of castle defence with Castle Frenzy.

As is the way of such experiences, waves of nasties - in this case mythical creatures such as elves, goblins, warlocks, trolls and skeletons - are all out to destroy your defences.

Your only weapon is your finger, which you use to make gestures and launch magical attacks. For example, a zigzag will create lighting while a V causes a tornado. You can upgrade these as you wipe out more of the invaders.

Modes are the usual Campaign and an endless Survival option, while you can prove your skill by comparing your achievements and scores using Gameloft's own Gameloft LIVE social network.

You can see how it all works in the following video.
