Cassette Beasts releases on iOS, Android release pulled pending approval for new patch
You'll have to wait a bit longer to join the retro battle

- Cassette Beasts is out now for iOS, but the Android release has seen a last minute pull
- Developer Bytten Studio say this is due to issues with approval for a new Google Play patch
- It'll return to the Android storefront as soon as possible, but stymies the release for now
If you've been waiting for Cassette Beasts, the retro creature-collecting and battling RPG, and you're on iOS you're probably already enjoying it as it finally releases today. But if you're on Android you may be wondering where the promised release has disappeared to, and if that's the case we've got unfortunate news for you.
While iOS users can enjoy Cassette Beasts right now, those on Android are out of luck as developer Bytten Studio have confirmed that the release has been yanked pending approval for a new patch on Google Play to fix some issues that had been cropping up ahead of the release.
It's a shame as well, because with its mix of classic creature-collecting action, battling and overworld exploration Cassette Beasts has been a launch that's been on our radar for a while. Sadly, as with many things these kinds of last minute delays can't be anticipated, so here's hoping that all of the issues are cleared up and that Android players can get their hands on Cassette Beasts very soon!

It's one of the unfortunate facts of life that sometimes launches don't go exactly to plan. What's slightly more unfortunate is that sometimes when a patch is needed at the eleventh hour, such as the case here, that the approval process of Google Play can seemingly stymie that.
Considering the fact that alternative storefronts have been such big news lately, maybe a wider launch with stores that made approvals quicker could've helped with that? Well, it's something to think about at least, but I would be surprised if it takes longer than a few days for Cassette Beasts to be back and ready to rumble on Android.
Still, if you need something to tide you over ahead of Cassette Beasts returning to Google Play, might we humbly suggest some of those we've listed in our latest feature on the top five new mobile games to try this week?
