Cassette Beasts' launch for iOS and Android could be just around the corner

Cassette Beasts' launch for iOS and Android could be just around the corner
  • Cassette Beasts was originally due to release for mobile back in June
  • However, it was delayed so the developers could work on improving the port
  • The App Store currently says it might launch on October 7th

You might remember that in May, we covered that Bytten Studio's Cassette Beasts would release for mobile on June 4th. However, just before that date, the developers tweeted that it would be delayed. It was disappointing, no doubt, but the team wanted to make the port as good as possible, so, for that reason, I say take as long as you need.

Official word has been quiet since the delay, leading me to peek around the web to see if I could find any clues. And, I found one, albeit in a fairly obvious place. According to the App Store page, Cassette Beasts is expected to launch for iOS on October 7th.

That's not too far away! Rejoice, right? Well, maybe, but it's important to remember that most games have a release date on the App Store as a placeholder. Give it a week or so and that could shift to later in the year. So, until we hear something official, we can only speculate.

Why have I just spent three paragraphs pondering this? You might reasonably ask. Because Cassette Beasts is a wonderful game, so I'm excited for the mobile version, that's why. If you're unfamiliar, it's a blend of Pokemon and other classic RPGs with a slight twist. Rather than collect creatures to battle, you find tapes that can transform your character and their companion into different beasties. Sounds fun, right?

Well, there's more. It's not a simple case of grabbing a cassette and that's your monster. They can be fused to make something entirely new, which may prove crucial in turning the tide of a fight that isn't going your way.

When it eventually arrives, Cassette Beasts will be available on the App Store and Google Play. If interested, you can pre-order before launch by clicking the button for your preferred platform below.
