Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, Square Enix’s upcoming mobile RPG in the hit series, is now open for pre-registration in Japan

Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights is the latest title in Square Enix’s popular RPG series, now optimized for mobile and coming soon to iOS and Android. Pre-registration is now open in Japan, with the official global release date still under wraps.

Apart from the iconic strategic battles using the “Brave & Default” system, Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights will feature a thrilling narrative by Keiichi Ajiro. If you're not familiar with the "Brave & Default” system, the offensive “Brave” lets you use up to four actions per turn while the defensive “Default” lets you conserve your actions. It's supposed to be a single-player RPG, but with PvPs, guild systems, and raids as well.

What's probably most intriguing here is that the game apparently won't be using a gacha system when it comes to its characters. Players will have the luxury of choosing the character they want to use without resorting to pull rates from a summons pool.

Because the game is supposedly the Bravely series’ 10th-anniversary project, players will be able to use and encounter tons of characters from the series, even those from previous titles. You can also expect to learn more about them via side stories and untold episodes.

Further details about the project are pretty sparse at the moment, but we do have a trailer to sink our teeth into embedded above. If you're keen on discovering more about the game, Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights is now open for pre-registration in Japan on the iOS App Store or on the Google Play Store for Android devices. You can also head on over to the game's official website to stay updated on all the latest developments.
